It doesn’t seem five minutes since my last blog, so much for me getting to grips with technology and keeping up to date!! Well the Manchester show I was making the Daisy doll kits for was a huge success. Visitors increased and seemed to be enjoying the varied stands and exhibits. A lady I met at the show the previous year sent a package just before Christmas containing flowers that had been hand crocheted knowing I used them. I was incredibly touched by her kindness. The sewing machine is working overtime as I prepare for the Creative Stitches and Hobby Crafts show in Glasgow. This is at the SECC from the 6th-9th March and I shall be demonstrating how I use an embellishing machine. I just hope the needles last the four days, anyone who has a machine will know what I mean. To make my stand look different I have been sewing rabbit dolls and angels trying to make each one different. I drew the pattern pieces for the rabbit doll onto scraps of calico. Then thought I had transferred all the designs onto paper. A few hours later the test rabbit was finished and I was happy, until I tried to find the pattern piece for the body. Gone! No matter how I tried it was impossible to match the original. Needless to say I was more careful with the angel doll.
My shed will be finished in a few weeks, the rain preventing the final coat of paint being applied. I am hoping to run some courses during the summer. So if anyone is interested in a particular technique please get in touch.
